For many years “Sesame Street” and “Thomas and friends” have entertained our kids. But did you know that in 2022 the Thomas and friends show introduced its first autistic character “Bruno the Brake Car”. Voiced by autistic actor Elliot Garcia. While in April of 2017 Big Bird and co met with “Julia” the first autistic character on Sesame street. Julia is performed by puppeteer Stacey Gordon, who has a son with autism.
Pablo and friends
Pablo tells the story of a five-year-old boy on the autism spectrum that uses his creativity – and magic crayons – to invent an imaginary world filled with animal characters which help him make sense of social situations and process confusing or anxious thoughts and feelings. The show is a mixture of live action and 2D animation the series contains 52 episodes. Pablo is available to watch on RTE jr /RTE jr app and as Pablo is a co-production with CBeebies it can also be viewed on that channel also.
